Featured Chapter Programs & Initiatives

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been committed to public service since its inception in 1913. Through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, the sorority serves a plethora of community initiatives by focusing on Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. The sorority realizes the challenges of African Americans and the community-at-large as a whole and seeks to continue to strengthen the bond of reaching out to help others.

The Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter is committed to continuing the tradition of community service by offering diverse programming intended to benefit those living within the chapter service areas. Please find below information on some of the featured programming for our chapter.

 

  • Literary Jazz Cafe, Delta House Party, Rhapsody in Red, and the Golf tournament in support of the Scholarship Fund Awards to High School Seniors and “Non-Traditional” Students
  • Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy
  • Delta G.E.M.S. (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully)
  • Feed the Homeless Project at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
  • Project S.M.A.R.T.
  • Go Red for Heart Health Initiative
