Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
President's Message
Welcome to the Official Website of the award-winning Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (NMAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

For more than 50 years, the Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter has proudly served communities throughout Middle Tennessee, remaining steadfast in our commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. We are a vibrant chapter of more than 300 college-educated women dedicated to creating meaningful, sustainable impact through intentional, community-centered programming.

Our inter-generational members are deeply connected to the community and to the Sorority at the local, state, regional, and national levels, providing leadership, oversight, guidance, and direction in support of Delta Sigma Theta’s mission. As we continue to evolve, NMAC is embracing technology to enhance engagement within the chapter and the broader community. Through virtual meetings, digital tools, and mobile access, we are expanding opportunities for connection, collaboration, and service in this dynamic digital age.

Guided by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, our work is centered on:
-
Economic Development
-
Educational Development
-
International Awareness and Involvement
-
Physical and Mental Health
-
Political Awareness and Involvement
Each year, NMAC awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to support high school and non-traditional students in their pursuit of educational excellence. The chapter also coordinates citywide voter registration and civic engagement initiatives, reinforcing our longstanding commitment to political awareness and involvement. In addition, NMAC maintains long-standing partnerships with the Nashville Rescue Mission, working collaboratively to connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness with access to nutritious meals and essential resources.
Beyond our local efforts, the chapter remains engaged in global issues impacting women and children of the African Diaspora, leveraging education, advocacy, and service to promote equity and empowerment worldwide. We are proud to be consistently recognized globally for our work in educational advancement, physical and mental health initiatives, and social action.
Whether you are a community partner interested in collaboration, a Soror seeking a chapter home, or a supporter of our mission, we welcome your engagement. I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our programs, initiatives, and upcoming events, and to stay connected with us through our social media platforms.

NMAC Chapter President
The Delta Girl...
By: Soror Mary McCleod-Bethune

The Delta girl is one who has been given the opportunity of education and broad development: she is one who has enjoyed the privileges of culture and selected environment....It is pleasing to a heartfelt depth to see her not as self-centered, not desirous of selfish power, not wanting the plaudits of people, not wanting glory- but with a purpose which directs her activities and all that she may control toward lifting somebody else.
